SOFTWOOD BOX

This is a box I made for a friend that works in the forest industry in Montana, but started out back here in New England at a white pine sawmill.

Materials: Douglas fir, eastern white pine, mahogany

Finish: Shellac

FEDERAL CARD TABLE

My rendition of the well known John and Thomas Seymour card table made in Boston c. 1794.

Materials: Mahogany, maple, and white pine

Finish: Oil varnish and beeswax

MICA BOX

This box was a graduation gift for my son. We did a bunch of rockhounding in western Maine when he was younger and the mica is from his crate of rocks in the shed. The figured maple for the interior is from the firewood pile.

Materials: White oak, maple, ebony, mica and brass

Finish: Shellac

DINING SET

Shaker table and chairs

Materials: Cherry, ash (chairs) and binder cane

Finish: Linseed oil paint and hardware oil

OAK LEAF DESK

I made this during the first winter of Covid with oak leaves from outside the door of my shop.

Materials: White oak, maple, kingwood and brass

Finish: Hardwax oil

LOW TABLES

Low coffee or side tables in hickory, white oak and cherry. 30” diameter.

STICKLEY STYLE CABINET

This was a cabinet that I made for an avid photographer and accompanies other Stickley pieces in the room. It was sized to sit below a window with a large format photo printer on top.

Materials: White oak and maple

Finish: Stain and oil varnish

SIDEBOARD

This sideboard was designed to fit in a small dining area and accompany an set of chairs and table in cherry/black lacquer.

Materials: Cherry, maple and ebony

Finish: Oil varnish
